Northern Switchgear was recently commissioned by SES Engineering Services (SES) and working alongside main contractor, Buckingham Group, to design, build and install electrical switchgear for a new leisure complex development in the City of York.
The York Stadium Leisure Complex project, or York Community Stadium, is a City of York Council-led scheme to deliver a new football and rugby stadium for professional and community sport and leisure facilities for the City of York. The complex will also feature a 13 screen IMAX cinema, a library and community hub, NHS outpatient services, a leisure centre including a gym, swimming pool and dance studio, along with restaurants and retail units. Within a multipurpose leisure project such as this, the specifications and requirements of the electrical systems we install are complex and multifaceted. We worked closely with SES and Buckingham Group to clearly understand the immediate and long-term purpose of each area of the development, so that we were able to provide appropriate and sustainable switchgear solutions. SES’ early engagement ethos allowed us to help influence the design at an early stage and ensure we achieved a best value design first time.
We were delighted to be able to commission an experienced provider in Northern Switchgear who was not fazed by the scale and diversity of the York Community Stadium project. The bespoke solutions they have designed and implemented have not only met the project brief but were developed with sustainability and longevity in mind.
