Whilst the majority of our work is delivered on a contract basis, we are sometimes called upon to provide urgent support to our clients.
We were recently contacted by Gateshead Council to attend a situation at their depot on Shearlegs Road. An electrical fault had caused a power outage at the depot and the Council did not have the necessary technical expertise in-house to deal with the issue. A member of our team was quickly on the scene where he was able to diagnose and rectify the problem and return power to the depot. He also carried out a review of the system to identify any other existing and potential faults and to suggest changes to prevent further outages in the future. The Shearlegs Road site is home to a whole host of Gateshead Council’s services including facilities management, environment and waste and commercial services. It is also home to the majority of the staff of Gateshead Housing Company. Our swift response to the call out enabled the Council to get the depot back up and running quickly, minimising the potentially disruptive impact of the closure on Gateshead residents and alleviating the financial implications of a longer closure on the business.
We owe a massive thank you [to NSG] for what was a very speedy response. It was down to the NSG team that we were able to get back up and running so quickly. They also produced a report detailing the condition of the electrical system with recommendations for improvements to prevent any further disruptions.
