I started my career in 1995 with a 3-year engineering apprenticeship in the Merchant Navy. After qualifying in 1998, I served as Second Engineering Officer on tankship vessels until 2002 when I chose a different career path due to starting a family.
I worked as a Maintenance Engineer through the next 8 years in various sectors including high speed production, automotive, building, electrical and pharmaceutical. I moved into a heavy engineering environment supplying specialist equipment to the offshore oil & gas industry in 2010 as a Production Engineer.
I worked as a Production Manager in the oil and gas industry and within a small hydraulic business until I took up the role of Production Manager at Northern Switchgear.
I’m looking forward to being involved in the continued growth of the company over the next year with some exciting projects on the horizon.
I’d spend the day with my family, starting with a good breakfast in the garden. We’d have a fun family day out and I’d round of the day with a good glass of wine.
I’d love to do a road trip around America to experience the people, history and cultures.
