What is your role at Northern Switchgear?

I am employed as a buyer to work with Suppliers and Production, to achieve both profit and on time delivery of materials for works.

What is your career background and how did you come to work at NSG?

Prior to joining NSG, I was employed by ABB in Sunderland where I worked in a team of 3 buyers. I oversaw the stores dealing with materials and control of stock through the MRP system. In the past five  years I worked in the Aftersales Department where I dealt with customers requesting spare parts for various projects throughout the UK and Offshore. After the closure of ABB I was approached by Andy and Craig which led to my appointment at NSG.

Tell us a bit more about what you do in your spare time by describing your perfect day off…

When I am away from work, I spend a lot of my time walking with my Border collie, and recently I have taken up cycling again.

Where would you most like to travel to and why?

I have been on two cruises to the Med. I enjoy waking up each morning either at sea or docking at a new port

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Growing up, I always wanted to be a butcher and interestingly I ended working as a butcher for some 21 years at various locations,

What do you enjoy most about working at Northern Switchgear?

I enjoy working at NSG, where everyone has the same targets /objectives to achieve the delivery of both Service and Quality that the name of NSG is known for.
